2010 Medical Symposium The Medical Society of Papua New Guinea is proud to announce the 46th Annual Symposium which will be co-hosted by Wewak General Hospital, East Sepik Provincial Government and Kaindi (Divine Word Campus).
The venue of the symposium will be at the Kaindi (DWU Campus) and various venues in Wewak, East Sepik Province from the 29th August to the 03rd September 2010. Call For PapersThe Medical Society of Papua New Guinea will be hosting the 46th Annual Medical Symposium in Wewak from the 29th of August to the 3rd September 2010. The Theme for this year is “LIFE STYLE DISEASES AND CANCERS”. Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare is the Patron for 2010 Medical Symposium. This symposium will be Co-Hosted by East Sepik Provincial Government, Wewak General Hospital, ESP Health Department and DWU Kaindi Campus.  The Medical Society of Papua New Guinea invites medical doctors, health workers, medical researchers, NGOs health workers, church health workers, corporate and private health care providers, medical and health science academics, and any interested members of the public to submit papers relevant to the theme to The Chairman Dr Godfrey Naboam and the Scientific Chairman Dr Lawrence Warangi through the Medical Society Website Address www.mspng.org on email

Medical Society of Papua New GuineaThe Medical Society of Papua New Guinea (MSPNG) was born in the early 1960s during the formative years of the Papuan Medical College. It was registered by that name as a Professional Society under the society Act 1962. It is a professional society comprising various health care workers that include specialists like medical officers, dental officers, medical researchers and scientists, pharmacists, allied health workers. Be a health care worker from any recognized health related institution both in PNG and overseas.
The functions of the Society are: to pursue its purposes consistent with the purpose for which it was established, particularly to ensure the growth and development of the Society; implement policies, guidelines, plans or recommendations endorsed at its Annual General Meetings; promote professional and ethical standard of health care in Papua New Guinea, provide advice to Public Hospital Boards, Provincial Health Administration, and government the government on any issues and matters relating to health practice in Papua New Guinea; and carrying out and other function consistent with its constitution.
